Mazda B Series
trucks 87/88

Mazda used the Mitsubishi G54B in carbureted form for their new
4wd model "B series" truck in 1987 and named it B2600, sticking
with their naming scheme of model=engine size. They also use a
standard bolt pattern in most of their transmission gearboxes
from mid 80's-late 90's. Swaps are being done using a few
different Mitsubishi engines 4g63/4g64/4g54 mated to a few
different Mazda trannys using the bellhousing from this short 2
year production in 1987/88. Mazda changed the bellhousing again
in 89 when they used their 100% totally new version of a 2.6
named "G6" but it has some similarities to the old g54b they
borrowed from Mitsubishi for those first 2 years.

"My father was the Quality
Manager for Mitsubishi's plant in Adelaide (Australia)
and he bought the Starion home from work for me one day
when I was a kid. It was always on display and I was
never allowed to play with it, so it's in the same
condition as it was when I was given it."
Corey Hoskin, Australia
Notice the same Shusei name on the box along with the
Colt logo as seen in the TV commercial.
